Well what’s so amazing about Dr. Who, well first off let’s get something straight here. I love Dr. Who and I may have a bit of inaccuracies with this post, but bear with me.
Dr. Who. Why does he protect earth?
Why not? - It’s the planet we are on so why not base it upon the earths existence. But why protect earth? Seeing as he is a Timelord why not protect other planets. Well as per theory I think our planet is the only one that doesn’t know widely of other species and extraterrestrial, and also our species looks a lot like he does. So why does he ruthlessly protect humanity. Again he must be lonely for someone to talk with to be with, to have by his side, and also he would get so bored of a hum-drum life. Besides he has the T.A.R.D.I.S.
(Time And Relative Dimension In Space for those who don’t know) Which leads to the next part.
The T.A.R.D.I.S., why is it drawn to important events lines in time? ( such as the end of humanity )
Well an answer may be that it is not so simple, but I may state that for a timelord time passes the same for both of us, He can manipulate time to an extent. This is made prominent by the timelords creating the T.A.R.D.I.S.’s and the complexity of their systems. My guess is that each is drawn to an important event in time to the group of beings that inhabit the area that he is going towards. My thoughts to that also revolve around each T.A.R.D.I.S. being programmed to go to events that are causing extreme conflict, or soon to be caused conflict. This somewhat explains that the doctor may want to be gone 5 minutes but be gone 5 years. Why? Well because the T.A.R.D.I.S. decides that this first step of this instance is over so proceed to the next, which may occur 15 years later. He can control it to some degree, but it seems only when the T.A.R.D.I.S. wants him to control the exactness of the time slip. The function of the actual T.A.R.D.I.S. intrigues me the most, as it is the pivotal element of the show that enables the Doctor to move through time, space, and dimensions.
The T.A.R.D.I.S. seems to have a special attraction to these events, why? Is there some system put into these Machines that drives them to seek out these events to try to fix what happened with the Daleks and the destruction of Gallifrey, and if you know Gallifrey is so far away from earth, and the milky way galaxy that it doesn’t seem to make sense that a timelords would come here. Maybe as a refuge during or after the time-war with the Daleks, being as the planet was protected by a barrier meant to keep all things out it was breached by the Doctor in ‘The Invasion of Time’ (1978).
But if you know more about the series, back before the 2005 reboot, the doctors weren’t exactly human, the disguised themselves as human as to pass off as them and enter society. Also a character The Master which was a timelord that ran away from the Last Great Time War. It is also supposed that after this war that Gallifrey has been destroyed. Stated before the 2005 reboot, the plot had mentioned that all the T.A.R.D.I.S. machines were powered by the The Eye of Harmony, a nucleus of a black hole that was also used to power the quantum force field barrier surrounding Gallifrey. If that planet was destroyed then how is the T.A.R.D.I.S. the doctor operates powered up and running? Well because the Last Great Time War has never ended because the doctor sealed the remaining timelords in a time lock when the others where planning on erasing the material universe, this was named ‘the Final Sanction’, and thus the war has not fully ended since those timelords are stuck in a time lock and there are still very few Daleks surviving. However in ‘The End of Time’ The Master opens the time lock and the timelords bent on the eradication of the material universe continue their plans, until the doctor with help of The Master close the Time War events back inside the time lock.
So, what do we know? The Doctor can never stay in one place, The T.A.R.D.I.S. is somehow powered through the time lock although nothing can escape it. Gallifrey hasn’t really been destroyed, The Master is actually dead. There is no real way to ‘end’ the series because all Daleks will have to be destroyed throughout all time, and The Doctor will have to stop the timelords in the time lock from fulfilling their plans.
To end this all off, why doesn’t the doctor just go back in time and stop the daleks from being created? Already tried that once and it didn’t work, that only pissed them off more. What about the cracks in the universe that seemingly randomly appear, well probably just remnants from the Last Great Time War when time and space started ripping apart and shearing.
Any thought? Questions? Criticisms?
